In the sake of an argument, I have every moral known to mankind, when in reality, I don’t.
For example; I HATE to write love on her arms. as I stated to someone else, in exact terms so I don’t have to retype; “… [I] think it’s a bandwagon cause for weak-willed individuals who can help themselves on their own, and the money would be of much better use given to the poor or homeless in america, building new shelters, feeding the hungry, or to research and develoment on a cure for cancer, aids, or other major diseases that a person CANNOT fix on their own.”
Do I believe this? Yes. I strongly do.
but. at the same time. Where does this belief come from?
I’m not an individual who is one for bettering mankind one step at a time.
I don’t volunteer, I don’t donate, and I probably never will.
This isn’t me being lazy, and it’s not standing up for a cause just for the image.
If anything, putting forth this belief hurts my image, shows a weakness, destroys the character of Cory.
I’ll never understand where these beliefs come from, when I feel no moral obligation to the cause.
And last but not particularly least, while it is all their own damn fault that they got into the situation, TWLOHA does help heroin addicts, and they are completely incapable of quitting on their own.
Quitting heroin cold turkey on your own is nearly impossible, and you get the sickness, they need someone to watch, care for and help, and keep them away from the stuff for nearly two weeks. And to keep watch on them on a much lesser level for months afterwards.
But, that said, that’s not what TWLOHA is there for, it’s just something they do in their spare time. All of your criticisms are fairly accurate, aside from the fact that they very clearly do save lives, and while they dont need all of they money they get, the cash they don’t have immediate direct uses for they redonate to other organizations that can use the money, and often will fail without it, immediately.
